TUCSON, ARIZONA (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team had another impressive day in Tucson, shooting a 5-under as a team to stay steady in second place at 9-under (567) after day two of the Mountain View Invitational. It matched the Rebels' best single-round team score of the 2018-19 academic year, while the two-round score of 9-under is the best 36-hole score of the year.
Polly Mack started the day in a tie for seventh at 2-under and turned in her best single-round score of her sophomore campaign - a 5-under 67 to jump up to the top of the leaderboard at 7-under after two rounds. The 67 matched her single-round career low with her first 67 coming as a freshman at the 2017 Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Mack holds a one-shot lead heading into Sunday's final round, where she will have a chance to win her second tournament of the spring.
Senior
Shannon Oh started the day in a tie with Mack in seventh and shot an even 72 to sit tied for 13th at 2-under. Freshman
Veronica Joels is in a tie for 24th at even after a round of 1-over 73 Saturday, while sophomore
Cathy Liu is in a tie for 38th at 3-over (147). Senior
Elizabeth Prior will start the final round in a tie for 57th at 7-over (151), followed by fellow senior
Alyssa Getty, who was playing as an individual, in a tie 69th at 12-over (156).
Texas State remained in first in the team competition after shooting 7-under in round two to move to 13-under on the tournament. The Rebels will begin the last round four shots behind them in second, followed by Iowa State in third at 8-under and No. 22 Washington and Oregon State tied for fourth at 4-under.
REBELS OF THE DAY: Mack was impressive Saturday, sinking six birdies against just one bogey. That included four birdies on the back nine and three straight birdies on 16, 17 and 18.

• UNLV has finished in the top-10 in all four tournaments this spring, including a first-place finish at Battle at Boulder Creek and a second place finish at Rebel Beach
• The Rebels finished second at their second annual Rebel Beach Invitational at Spanish Trail Country Club in February, which is co-hosted by Long Beach State. Prior blew out the field with a seven-shot victory for her second straight tournament win
• The Rebels opened the spring with a team win at the Battle of Boulder Creek, with Prior and Mack tying for medalist honors
