Rebels Pick Up Two Wins Friday In Riverside

UNLV track & field’s 4x200m relay quartet sets stadium record in win at UCR Spring Classic.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field team began their stay at the UC Riverside Spring Classic on a good note with wins in the 4x200m relay – in record-setting fashion – and hammer throw Friday.
 
The foursome of Jada Hicks, Kaysha Love, Emerald Bowens and Drea Austin combined to claim victory in the 4x200m relay and clock a time of 1:36.13, and break the UC Riverside Track & Field Stadium record by 1.61 seconds (1:37.94).
 
Mackenna Howard won the hammer throw with a mark of 170-4 (51.93m).
 
Emma Wahlenmaier finished seventh in the 5000m with a personal-best time of 18:07.30.
 
The final day of the meet begins at 10:00 am with the shot put Saturday. Action on the track starts at 1:00 pm with the 4x100m relay.
