Rebels Trek To Golden State For Bryan Clay Invitational

UNLV track & field will participate in three-day meet hosted by Azusa Pacific in Southern California.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field program returns to action this week at the three-day Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, California. Action gets underway at the Azusa Pacific-hosted meet Wednesday with the heptathlon and 10,000m, and continues through Friday at Cougar Athletic Stadium.
 
Zoe Gilbertson and Stella Clemens will participate in four disciplines of the heptathlon; the former will compete in group one at 8:00 am, while the latter is in group four (1:30 pm). The final three events of the heptathlon will take place Thursday.
 
Kennedy Allen and Grace Moore will run in the 10,000m Wednesday night, while Thursday's will see Emma Wahlenmaier run in the 5000m.
 
The bulk of the Rebel contingent are slated to compete in eight track and five field events. The day begins with Jasmyne Graham, Jada Hicks, Taylor Pegram and Jaela Williams in the 100m hurdles at 10:15 am, and concludes with Elisa Rovere running in the 1500m at 8:35 pm.
 
LAST TIME OUT: UNLV recorded five event victories and a total of 19 top-three finishes in 15 individual events against UNR and San Diego State at the Mountain West Challenge, which was held at Myron Partridge Stadium & Sheila Tarr-Smith Field.  
 
The Rebels picked up wins from Kaysha Love (100m and 200m), Mackenna Howard (hammer throw), Pegram (100m hurdles) and Rovere (1500m).
 
REBEL NOTES:
- The Rebels have three student-athletes ranked in the top 25 of two events in the NCAA rankings.
- Pegram and Graham are 13th and 23th, respectively in the 100m hurdles.
- Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete sits 19th in the 800m.
- The Rebels have 14 student-athletes ranked in the top 10 of 13 events in the Mountain West rankings a total of 18 times.
- Kaysha Love sits first overall in the 100m and 200m, and sixth in the high jump.
- Wilson-Perteete sits first overall in the 800m, second in the 1500m and sixth in the 400m.
- UNLV has four of the top-seven spots in the 100m hurdles: Pegram (first), Graham (second), Hicks (third) and Williams (seventh).
- Graham is also fourth in the 400m hurdles.
- Jartierra Grissom sits fourth in the high jump.
- Jonon Young sits third in the triple jump.
- Howard sits second in the shot put and eighth in the hammer throw.
- Cassidy Osborne-Butler sits fourth in the shot put.
