Jayasankar Ends Rebel Career With Second Team All-American Honors At NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV track & field's Krishna Jayasankar finished 13th overall in the shot put at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships Saturday at the University of Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track Center.

The senior, who became the first Indian woman to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships, threw a mark of 16.54m (54' 3.25") on her third of three attempts. She finished ahead of three others and by doing so, earned Second Team All-American honors.

QUOTABLE: "We are very proud of Krishna. She has represented UNLV track and field on every level. Not only has she been able to help build our throws program, but she has also shown the women what it means to be a student-athlete. Joining several clubs on campus, donating her time to the community and being a positive leader and role model on this team. Leaving her legacy here at UNLV, I hope that more young female student athletes follow her lead. Go Rebels!"
