LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – For the second straight year, the UNLV women's tennis team will head to Malibu, California, to play in the annual ITA Kickoff Weekend after Wednesday's national draft determined the site lineups.
Â
On Jan. 25, 2020, the No 52 Rebels will face top-seeded and sixth-ranked host Pepperdine at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center while No. 2 seed and No. 46 Arkansas will take on third-seeded and 49th-ranked Arizona on the home courts of the Waves. The winners of each match will play each other the following day, as will the losing teams.
Â
UNLV, which finished this season 18-7 overall after winning the Mountain West regular-season and tournament titles and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championship, has won at least one match at the Kickoff event for three consecutive seasons, including a 4-2 win over Oregon in Malibu last time out.
Â
Kevin Cory, the winningest women's tennis coach in school and MW history (334-159), will return for his 21st season leading the Rebel program in the fall.
