UNLV placed a program-record nine members of the women's basketball team on the 2019 Spring Academic All-Mountain West team, the league office announced this week. That was also just one off tying for the most of any women's basketball team in the conference, trailing only Boise State (10). Another program record was set when the 2019 MW All-Scholar Team was announced, as four Lady Rebels earned recognition. 

Leading the way was Paris Strawther who made it a clean sweep with four straight seasons on the Academic All-MW squad.

Making her third appearance was senior Alyssa Anderson, while sophomore Krista Jackman claimed her second honor. 

Six more Lady Rebels earned their first-ever academic honor, starting with seniors Nikki Wheatley and Jordyn Bell. First-year transfers Bailey Thomas, Haley Rydalch and LaTecia Smith all earned spots on the academic team, as did freshman Justice Ethridge.

Named to the All-Scholar Team were Anderson, Thomas, Rydalch, and junior guard Mara Kemmer. This is the second straight year that Anderson and Kemmer were honored, while its the first career All-Scholar mention for Rydalch and Thomas.

To be eligible for selection to the Academic All-MW team, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the school while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their team. To be eligible for selection as a MW Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have participated in varsity competition for their athletic team.
