With Camp Rebel in the rearview mirror and game one preparations in full swing, UNLV football received some good news late Tuesday.

Cal transfer and Las Vegas native Biaggio Ali Walsh was officially cleared to play this season after a months-long waiver process ended with the NCAA's decision Tuesday to allow immediate eligibility.

The ordeal was long, but Walsh was relieved and thankful that it worked out in his favor.

"Being eligible means everything to me," said Walsh. "It was an eight/nine month wait and going through spring ball, workouts and fall camp not knowing what was going to happen was hard, so hearing that yesterday was awesome. Now that I know I'm able to play I just want to focus on doing whatever I can to help the team win."

The running back will try to work his way up the depth chart and plans on doing whatever he can to earn his way onto the field.

Walsh, who is the grandson of boxing legend Muhammad Ali, was a standout running back at Bishop Gorman High School, where he rushed for 4,508 yards and 65 touchdowns as the Gaels went 45-0 from 2013-16.

Walsh committed to Cal out of high school and spent the last two seasons as a Bear before returning home this spring to play for his hometown school. With one of those seasons at Cal counting as a redshirt year, Walsh will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at UNLV.

Individual, season and mini-plan tickets for UNLV's 2019 home football games are now on sale. Season tickets, which start as low as $99, are still available and as part of UNLV's Faithful Fan Pricing initiative, fans purchasing season tickets this year may purchase season tickets for the same per-game price in the new Las Vegas Stadium opening in 2020.
 
This year's mini-plan allows fans to purchase tickets for the games vs. Boise State, San Diego State and Hawai'i for one low price that includes a meal combo and the commemorative giveaway T-shirt each week. Prices for the mini-plan are $99 for end-zone locations and $150 for sideline seats.
