LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team will open the 2019-20 campaign, Monday, September 9, at the University of New Mexico's Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The annual tournament will be played at the UNM Championship Golf Course (par 72, 6,317 yards). Participants will be playing in threesomes, with parings for each round being determined by team score. Play will get underway each morning (Monday-Tuesday) at 7:30 a.m. PT with a shotgun start.

The Scarlet and Gray has a new look this season with just three returnees back from last year's roster and six new faces have joined the 2019-20 squad. UNLV welcomed three freshman - Elina Saksa (Turku, Finland), Serena Sepersky (La Jolla, California) and Aliyah Williams (Las Vegas, Nevada), and three transfers in Samantha Fuller (Surrey, England), Dana Puyol (Barcelona, Spain) and Luka Van Der Merwe (Kirkland, Washington). 

Headlining the group is Fuller, who comes to Las Vegas after a decorated NAIA career at Keiser University in Florida, where she was named was named the 2019 NAIA Player of the Year and earned NAIA First Team All-America honors. She is also a member of the English National Team.
 
The Rebels saw a pair of streaks come to an end in the spring as their consecutive Mountain West Championships ended at three and their consecutive NCAA appearances ended at 16. 

This will mark for the fifth consecutive year that the Rebels will open their season at the event at UNM. Last year, UNLV finished in a tie for eighth. This tournament will be the Rebels' lone event of September. Their next tournament will be  October 12-13, at Texas' Betsy Rawls Invitational. 

THE FIELD: The 2019 Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational will feature a field of 15 teams, including host New Mexico. In addition to the Lobos and Rebels, the tournament includes Colorado State, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kent State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Pepperdine, San Diego State, UC Davis and UNR.

THE LINEUP:  The UNLV lineup in Albuquerque will consist of junior Samantha Fuller, freshman Elina Saksa, redshirt freshman Dana Puyol, freshman Serena Sepersky and junior Cathy Liu. Freshman Aliyah Williams will be playing as an individual.
