LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field program will travel back to the Grand Canyon State and to a Northern Arizona-hosted meet for the second straight week with its participation in Friday's Lumberjack Team Challenge. The one-day meet is being contested at the Walkup Skydome.
The Rebels will compete in a total of 13 events, with five field events slated to begin at 2:00 pm MT (1:00 pm PT) before the first running event at 4:30 pm MT (3:30 pm PT). The women's long jump gets the day's action started for UNLV, while the triple jump, high jump, shot put and weight throw will follow in succession. The prelims of the 60m hurdles will open the track portion of the meet, with the 60m prelims, mile, 400m, 800m, 200m, 3000m and 4x400m relay to follow until 8:35 pm MT (7:35 pm PT).
UNLV will send 28 student-athletes to Flagstaff for the Lumberjack Team Challenge after it sent 14 for the season-opening meet. Making their season debuts Friday are 2019 MW Indoor All-Conference honorees
Mackenna Howard and
Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete as well as indoor event finalists
Cassidy Osborne-Butler and
Elisa Rovere. Both Howard and Osborne-Butler will compete in the shot put and weight throw, while Wilson-Perteete and Rovere will run in the 400m and 4x400m relays.

Cassondra Hall, a senior transfer from LSU, in the 60m and sophomore
Jonon Young in both the long jump and triple jump. For their efforts, the Rebel pair were tabbed the Mountain West's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week.
Additionally, freshman Jazlynn Shear claimed second in the triple jump and 60m hurdles, and took third in the long jump. Senior

DeAndra Greer (Indiana State) were second and fourth, respectively, in the 60m.
IN THE STANDINGS: After one meet, Hall, Young and Shearer sit atop the conference's standings for the 60m, triple jump and 60m hurdles, respectively. In all, UNLV owns 15 top-8 spots in a total of six events.
-In the 60m, UNLV owns five of the top-6 spots in the 60m, with Hall and Love (7.33) sitting 1-2 in the MW as well as 10th and 11th in the nation.
-In the 60m hurdles, UNLV's Shearer (8.34) and
Jada Hicks (8.40) are 1-2.
-In addition to sitting first in the triple jump, Young is also second in the long jump (19-5.5/5.93m).
