Second Half Of MW Play Starts Saturday Against CSU

UNLV has won the past two years in Las Vegas against Colorado State

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -  Saturday marks the start of the second half of Mountain West play for UNLV women's basketball, as it hosts the Colorado State Rams at 3 pm in the Cox Pavilion. UNLV will be honoring National Girls & Women in Sports Day on Saturday as well, starting with an all-sports clinic held in the Mendenhall Center from 12:30-2:30 pm prior to the start of the contest against CSU.

Tickets for UNLV women's basketball are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and staff, while kids 17 and under are free at UNLV Lady Rebel contests. Tickets are also $3 off if bought online at UNLVRebels.com by the night before the game.

There will be a live video stream available on the Mountain West Network, with the link also available on UNLVRebels.com. Ben Wilson will provide the call, while Wyatt Tomchek (play-by-play) will handle the radio broadcast, also on UNLVRebels.com.

UNLV Game Notes

♦ UNLV looks to bounce back from its road loss last weekend at San Diego State, though back-to-back losses by Boise State has kept the Lady Rebels in third place in the MW standings at 6-3.
♦ Saturday is a matchup of the top two defenses in the Mountain West. UNLV currently ranks first in both scoring defense (59.1 ppg) and field goal defense (38%), while the Rams are second in both categories (59.7 ppg allowed, 38% field goal defense).
♦ UNLV is 32-8 in league play at home (28-8 in the Cox Pavilion, 4-0 in the Thomas & Mack Center) over the past five seasons. That includes this year's 3-1 mark.
♦ CSU meanwhile has struggled on the road this season with a 2-7 record, and have won just one road game in conference action, a 56-49 victory at Wyoming. Three of the Rams four league losses on the road are by double-digits.
♦ CSU won eight straight in the series between 2013-2017, but the teams have split the past four meetings, with both squads winning on their home courts in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
♦  The 2019-20 UNLV Lady Rebel squad is one of the youngest and least experienced teams in the Mountain West this season after graduating four senior starters. UNLV has 10 underclassmen on this year's squad, with seven freshmen and three sophomores, while the four-member senior class had a total of two career starts (as a Lady Rebel) entering the season.
