Joels And Puyol Tie For Third At Battle At Boulder Creek

All three Rebels competing as individuals finished among the top eight at event in Boulder City.

BOULDER CITY, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) - All three of UNLV's women's golfers that were competing as individuals at the Battle at Boulder Creek finished in the top eight as the final round was played on Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Club (par 72, 6,179 yards).

Rebel sophomore Veronica Joels shot a final-round five-over-par 77, while freshman Dana Puyol was 10-over, and the pair both tied for third at 15-over, two shots behind medalist Haeri Lee from Drake (13-over 229). Liz Kim from Ball State was second at 15-over.

UNLV freshman Aliyah Williams shot a final-round 9-over and tied for eighth at 27-over. 

There were four teams and a total of 26 individuals that competed at the event. 

UNLV will be back in action as a team Monday-Tuesday, Feb. 17-18, at The Rebel Beach tournament, which will be played at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas.
