LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field program's
Acacia Astwood,
DeAndra Greer,
Cassondra Hall,
Mackenna Howard and
Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete earned U.S. Track & field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, while the squad claimed All-Academic Team recognition behind its 3.19 cumulative GPA.
This is the third straight year that Howard and Wilson-Perteete (2018-20) have been acknowledged for their classroom success, and the fourth year overall for the former (2015, 2018-20). Astwood, Greer and Hall are first-time honorees.
Dating back to the 2009-10 school year, the Rebel track & field program has claimed all-academic team recognition eight times.
A total of 659 women from 178 institutions earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors during the 2019-20 season. To qualify, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better and have met at least one of the following athletic standards: for the most recent indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event or ranked in the top 48 in any championship relay event on the official NCAA Division I descending order lists on TFRRS.
To be included on the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team list, all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA squad list – 264 women's programs, in all – must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
