LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team took the first match of a Saturday doubleheader with a 4-0 win over Montana at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The Rebels will return to the courts later in the day against Weber State.
 
UNLV evened its season record at 2-2 while the Grizzlies fell to 1-3 on the young season.
 
The Rebels emerged victorious in a spirited doubles session to build a 1-0 lead. The teams split on the lower two courts before UNLV's top duo won a tiebreaker at the top of the lineup.
 
In singles, the hosts won the first set on five of six courts and then clinched it with straight-set victories by Jordan Sauer on court two, Milos Dabic on court three and Anton Ornberg on court four. The remaining matches were halted.
 
NET NOTES: UNLV has now won 15 consecutive home matches and 27 of its last 29 staged in Las Vegas … Top Rebel player Alex Kobelt sat out for the second straight day.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Jordan Sauer set the tone in singles play with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Oisin Shaffrey at the second position.
 
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will close out the weekend by facing Weber State at 3 p.m.
