LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – More than 120 women's collegiate tennis players are scheduled to compete this week (Oct. 13-17) at the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Mountain Region Championships being held at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the UNLV campus.
Â
This will be the third straight Mountain Regional that the ITA women's event will be in town (last year's event was not played because the pandemic erased the fall schedule). Members from 20 western teams will face off as individuals from Wednesday through Sunday on 12 courts each day in both singles and doubles.
Â
The ITA Regional Championships feature some of the top men's and women's players across the country. More 8,000 student-athletes from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior and Community Colleges compete across 85 ITA Regional Championships around the country. In Division I, regional doubles champions and regional singles champions and finalists qualify for the season-ending ITA National Fall Championships.
Â
Wednesday's first round gets under way with Round of 64 doubles at 9:00 a.m. PT followed by a full Round of 64 singles – with two flights. There will be added matches in singles to ensure each entrant at least two outings.
Â
The finals are set for Sunday. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
