Two UNLV Men's Golfers Among Top Five After Day One In Dallas

Caden Fioroni and David Rauch are both 3-under par after two rounds at Trinity Forest Invitational, hosted by SMU.

DALLAS (UNLVRebels.com) UNLV men's golf sophomore Caden Fioroni and senior David Rauch are both among the top five individuals after the first day of play Monday at the Trinity Forest Invitational, which is being hosted by SMU at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 71, 7,330 yards).

Fioroni shot an opening-round 3-under 68 and a second-round even-par 71, while Rauch shot rounds of 2-under and 1-under. Both Rebels are in a four-way tie for fourth at 3-under 139. SMU's Noah Goodwin is on top of the individual leaderboard at 10-under 132 (67-65), while there is a two-way tie for second at 6-under.

SMU leads the team standings at 16-under 552. UT Arlington is in second at 11-under, while Sam Houston is the only other team under par, in third place at 1-under. North Texas is fourth at even par and Little Rock rounds out the top five at 1-over. UNLV is 11th at 14-over.

There are 14 teams competing at the tournament, which includes 78 individuals.

The final round is scheduled for Tuesday and live scoring is available via Golfstat.com.
