LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Cassondra Hall and
Jonon Young played a part in all five of the Rebels' victories on the final day of its UNLV Spring Invitational & Sheila Tarr-Smith Multis. In all, the the Scarlet & Gray was able to post 19 top-eight finishes at Myron Partridge Stadium Saturday.
Hall was first in both the 100m (11.27) and 200m (23.08), and ran the second leg of the 4x100m relay's victory (44.79). She partnered with Nami Wilson,
Kaysha Love and
Tianna Randle, who took third in the 100m (11.54 PB) in the relay.
Young was triumphant in the long jump and triple jump, posting marks of 20-8 (6.30m) – a personal best – in the former event and 42-9.75 (13.05m) in the latter.
Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete helped the Rebels to a pair of second-place finishes, as she was runner-up in the 400m (55.16) and 4x400m relay (3:50.12) alongside teammates Amari Prude,
Agnes Mansaray and
Alexis Surrell.
Mansaray and Surrell also had top-eight finishes in the 800m (fourth place/2:14.50) and 400m (eighth/58.56), respectively.
Additionally,
Taylor Shorter was fifth in the 100m hurdles (14.28) and
Alia Scott finished in that same spot in the 400m hurdles (1:03.31).
FINAL STANDINGS: BYU finished first in the 12-team field with 169.5 points, while UNLV was second (108). Weber State (87), Utah Valley (70) and Utah State (60) finished third through fifth, respectively.
