Tianna Randle won their respective heats in the first round of the 100m.
Young jumped a distance of 20-0.5 (6.11m) to finish behind a trio of long jumpers from three different Texas-based universities. She returns to Myers Stadium Saturday to compete in the triple jump 'A' event.
Hall and Randle advanced to Saturday's 100m final after the duo ran times of 11.37 (fourth heat) and 11.38 (seventh), respectively. Hall's time was the sixth best in the prelims, while Randle's was ninth.
IN THE RANKINGS: Entering the week, UNLV had three student-athletes ranked in the top 10 of four outdoor events. Hall leads the country in both the 100m (11.27) and 200m (23.08), and has helped the 4x100m relay to a third-place showing nationally (44.79). Young sits sixth in the long jump (20-8/6.30m), while Randle is ninth in the 100m (11.54). Additionally, the 4x400m relay is 10th (3:40.89), respectively.
