LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's soccer redshirt junior Ariana Reyes was named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics' Strategic Communications department.
Reyes, a Clark High School graduate, played hometown hero against Fresno State as her two goals, which included both the game-tying score in regulation and golden goal in double overtime, handed the Rebels a 2-1 home win. Coincidentally, the Scarlet and Gray's midfielder's timely brace came on a day in which she netted the first two goals of her career.
