LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV Lady Rebels return to action after an eight-day break when they open play in the 2021 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Women's Basketball Championship Monday night in a quarterfinal contest at 5:30 pm in the Thomas & Mack Center. The second-seed UNLV squad will face the winner of Sunday night's contest between seventh-seed Wyoming and 10th-seed Utah State.
There will be a live video stream available on the Mountain West Network and UNLVRebels.com, while the radio broadcast, featuring Wyatt Tomchek as play-by-play and Ashly Dickinson as color analyst can also be accessed at UNLVRebels.com. Â
UNLV Game Notes Â
♦ One of the hottest teams in the Mountain West, the UNLV Lady Rebels won 10 of their last 12 games to storm all the way up to second place and the second seed in this week's 2021 Mountain West Tournament. UNLV's five-game win streak is the longest in the conference as well.
♦ While the Lady Rebels' are 18-0 all-time against Utah State and have won eight straight in the series, their potential matchup with Wyoming would be a much together challenge. Despite their No. 7 seed, the Cowgirls are currently ranked #126 in the NCAA NET rankings, and split the series with UNLV during the regular season.
♦ That contest was just the fourth and fifth games of the season for UNLV though, and if the teams play on Monday it would be almost exactly three months after the first meeting between the two.
