Rebels Finish 12th At Aggie Invitational

Jack Trent led UNLV individually with a tie for 16th in Texas.

BRYAN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team shot a final-round 6-over-par 294 on Sunday and finished in 12th place at the The Aggie Invitational, which was hosted by Texas A&M and played at the Traditions Golf Club (par 72, 7,227 yards).

No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 12 Texas A&M tied for first at 2-over 866 after 54 holes, and the Aggies won the team title by winning a playoff. No. 5 Texas placed third at 4-over, followed by No. 25 Texas Tech at 9-over. Baylor rounded out the top five at 12-over. There were 17 teams competing at the event.

Texas A&M's Sam Bennett earned individual medalist honors at 6-under 210. Texas' Pierceson Coody finished one shot back in second place, while Baylor's Luke Dossey placed third at 2-under.

UNLV was led individually by senior Jack Trent, who tied for 16th at 3-over after a final-round 1-under 71. Senior J.J. Gresco tied for 24th at 5-over, sophomore George Leigh tied for 63rd at 15-over, junior David Rauch tied for 70th at 18-over and sophomore Jack Kozlowski was 92nd at 31-over. There were a total of 96 golfers competing.
