UNLV Student-Athletes Have Opportunity To Plan For Future With Rebels Go Pro Career Week

UNLV alumni and members of the Las Vegas community will lead the events, which start Monday.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Monday starts a great opportunity for all UNLV student-athletes to prepare for their future with programming during Rebels Go Pro Career Week. All Rebel student-athletes are encouraged to take part, as the UNLV Student-Athlete Development Department, along with Athlete Network, have put together a week-long set of programs designed to help Rebel student-athletes achieve success while at UNLV and beyond. The full list of events are below.

Monday, April 12
  • 11:30 AM - SENIOR LEGACY PANEL - A deep dive into lessons learned and tips for success at UNLV and beyond - featuring Bailey Thomas (Women's Basketball), Nate Oishi (Football), Lauren Smith (Women's Swimming) and Mbacke Diong (Men's Basketball) 
    * - Recommended for underclassmen
     
  • 5:30 PM - BUILDING YOUR BRAND THROUGH RELATIONSHIPS - With D.J. Allen, Communications and Performance Coach and CEO of Leadership X's and O's
    * - Recommended for freshmen-seniors
Tuesday, April 13
  • 12:00 PM - LIFE AFTER SPORTS PANEL - With alumni Paul Richie (Pilot with Pilots and Paws), Ivy Provines (Computer Scientist with JT4), Zack Singer (Associate Sales Rep with Sports Medicine at Stryker) and Simone Sheppard (1LT with US Army)
    * - Recommended for upperclassmen
     
  • 5:30 PM - A PLAYBOOK FOR YOUR FUTURE: HOW TO NETWORK WHEN YOU HATE NETWORKING - With Jenna Heath, Director of Student & Community Engagement, College of Liberal Arts
    * - Recommended for freshmen-seniors
Wednesday, April 14
  • 11:30 AM - BUILDING A BALLER RESUME - With Kass Moore, Career Advisor with MedCerts
    * - Recommended for freshmen-seniors
     
  • 5:30 PM - FINDING THE RIGHT TEAM TO JOIN ON YOUR CAREER PATH - With Brett Sadler (Director of Corporate Partnerships at MGM) and Rick Austin (Site Leader with Amazon Operations)
    * - Recommended for freshmen-seniors

NOTE: All UNLV student-athletes are required to attend at least one of the sessions.
