LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's Izumi Asano has been named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the fourth time in her career, the league announced Wednesday.

Asano (Kasugai, Japan) led UNLV to victories over Boise State and Utah State in Idaho last weekend by compiling a 4-0 mark in singles and doubles.

Playing at the top of the lineup, she teamed with En-Pei Huang for a pair of doubles wins to improve to 10-1 this spring. In singles, Asano earned a come-from-behind victory against Boise State's Loana Baptista, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (10-8), and swept Utah State's Carolina Millan, 6-1, 7-6 the following day.

Asano also won the award in back-to-back weeks (Feb. 12 and 19) last year and on Feb. 6, 2019.

The Rebels next play Saturday at Air Force beginning with doubles play at noon PT.
