Jack Trent Finishes 19th At NCAA Regional

UNLV senior shoots final-round 2-over 73 as he competed as an individual in Cle Elum, Washington.

CLE ELUM, Wash. (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV men's golf senior Jack Trent shot a final-round 2-over-par 73 and finished in a tie for 19th Wednesday at the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, which was played at Tumble Creek Club at Suncadia Resort (par 71, 7,069 yards).

Trent, who competed at the event as an individual, posted a 54-hole score of 3-over 216. His final round consisted of four birdies, four bogeys and a double bogey.

East Tennessee State's Shiso Go claimed individual medalist honors by one shot at 8-under 205 after a final-round 4-under 67. Pepperdine's Joey Vrzich, who shot 6-under Wednesday, and Wake Forest's Alex Fitzpatrick both tied for second at 7-under.

East Tennessee State also won the team title at 14-under 838. No. 25 San Francisco was second at 4-under, No. 6 Wake Forest finished third at 2-under, No. 7 Pepperine was fourth at 1-under and No. 17 Florida rounded out the top five at 6-over. 

The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams advanced to the NCAA Finals, which will be held May 28-June 2 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. The individual moving on from the NCAA Cle Elum Regional, which was one of six sites feeding into the national championship, was Utah's Tristan Mandur after tying for fourth at 6-under.
