LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV track & field's
Cassondra Hall was named the Mountain West's Track Athlete of the Week following her performance at Arizona's Desert Heat Classic last weekend.
At the one-day meet in Tucson, Arizona, Hall began the day running the second leg of the 4x100m relay, which registered a runner-up finish and clocked a time of 43.91. Additionally, that time is the second-fastest outdoor performance in the event by a Rebel foursome in program history, just .10 seconds off the record of 43.81 set in 2018.
The native of Warner Robins, Georgia, went on to win the 100m (11.29) and 200m (23.03) before she capped off the day running the anchor leg of the first-place 4x400m relay (3:36.25).
Currently, all three of those aforementioned winning times rank first overall in the MW, while her 100m time (11.27), which was recorded at UNLV Spring Invitational in mid-March, is also tops in the conference. In the national rankings, she is 18th in the 100m, while the 4x100m relay is 15th.
NEXT TIME OUT: UNLV will return to action in two weeks (May 13-15) at the 2021 Mountain West Outdoor Championships in Clovis, California.
