Veronica Joels, Madeleine Laux and Elina Saksa all earn the prestigious recognition.

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (UNLVRebels.com) - Three UNLV women's golf student-athletes were named Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars, the organization announced Tuesday.

Rising senior Veronica Joels, who is working on her master's degree in hospitality management, rising sophomore Madeleine Laux, an elementary education major, and rising junior Elina Saksa, a business administration major, were among the 1,432 women's collegiate golfers around the country recognized with this prestigious honor.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 during the 2020-21 academic year.

This is the third straight year that Joels has received a selection, while Saksa earned her second consecutive honor. Laux was recognized for the first time.

This is also the third straight year the Rebels have had three selections.
