Amber Chen and junior
Zi Yu Foong represent the UNLV women's golf team in the individual top 10 after Monday's opening round at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional at University of Michigan Golf Course (Par 71, 6,260 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Chen leads the Rebels in a tie for third just two shots off the lead at 3-under 68. Foong, meanwhile, finds herself in a tie for sixth within three shots of the lead at 2-under 69. Together the duo shot par or better on a combined 33 holes, including Foong's 17 of 18 holes with a bogey-free first 15 holes and Chen's 16.
Also making her way into the top 30 on the day for the Scarlet & Gray, freshman
Demi Du (+2) is tied for 27th after starting the day with par-or-better tallies across her first 11 holes. Freshman
Lana Yamagata (+10) in 61st and junior
Jane Huang (+11) in a tie for 62nd round out the lineup.
DAY-ONE LEADERBOARD: The top-5 team standings see Northwestern and Ohio State with a share of the lead at 5-under, USC in third at 3-under, Duke (+2) in fourth and UCF (+3) in fifth. UNLV (+7) sits in seventh looking to close in on the top-5 leaderboard within four shots of UCF.
