SATURDAY'S PREVIEW...
UNLV (0-2) returns to Allegiant Stadium to host No. 14 Iowa State (1-1) Saturday night in the first of seven Rebel games this fall to be televised by CBS Sports Network ... The Cyclones are the 10th-highest ranked team to take on the Rebels in Las Vegas and the highest-ranked opponent here since No. 13 UCLA traveled to Sam Boyd Stadium in 2015 ... Both teams come in after having dropped games to ranked opponents as UNLV fell 37-10 at then-No. 23 Arizona State and ISU lost to 10th-ranked Iowa 27-17 in Ames ... In a scheduling quirk, UNLV also hosted Iowa State immediately after playing at ASU in 2008 ... UNLV's Super Senior RB Charles Williams moved into third place on the team's career rushing list in Tempe ... The Chuck Wagon heads into this week with the most career net rushing yards gained on the FBS level (3,152) among all current players. Two current FBS players (Liberty's Joshua Mack and Hawai'i's Calvin Turner) have more career rush yards than Williams but a majority of them were gained on the FCS level before transferring to their current schools.

REBELS vs. CYCLONES NOTES...
Iowa State leads 4-1 in a series that dates back to 1995 ... ISU is the first ranked team to play UNLV in Las Vegas since No. 16/15 Boise State on Oct. 5, 2019 ... UNLV is facing back-to-back ranked opponents for the sixth time overall and first time since 2010 when the Rebels hosted No. 12 Wisconsin and then visited No. 20 Utah to open the season ... The Rebels and Cyclones were supposed to meet at Allegiant Stadium in 2020 before COVID-19 wiped out the teams' non-conference slate. UNLV is now scheduled to travel to Ames on Sept. 14, 2030 ... The Rebels are 4-19 all-time vs. teams currently making up the Big 12 Conference and 3-9 vs. teams that were members of the league at the time of the game (1-4 vs. ISU, 1-2 vs. Baylor, 1-1 vs. KU and 0-2 vs. KSU) ... The Rebels have one current player from the Hawkeye State, 2021 signee OL Anthony Berry from Urbandale and a product of Iowa Central CC ... That's the same JC that produced former Rebel great P/PK Ray Cheetany (1999-2000) out of Linn-Mar HS in Marian ... Former LB Tyrone Tucker transferred to UNLV from Iowa State in 2001 and started for the Rebels in 2002.
