LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's soccer will face its first road tests during WAC play this season with matches Friday at Seattle and Sunday at San Jose State. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT Friday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. PT Sunday.
The Rebels (4-4, 0-1 WAC) come into the weekend in search of their first victory in WAC play and a quick rebound from its 3-1 defeat to California Baptist in their conference opener.
In spite of the outcome against the Lancers, UNLV still boasts one of the league's most potent offensive attacks with 15 goals to rank third in the WAC and a league-leading 16 assists. The Rebels take on another pair of capable WAC offensive units, as the Redhawks (4-5, 0-1 WAC) rank first in shots (129), second in corners (56) and fourth in goals (130) and the Spartans (2-5-1, 0-1 WAC) are sixth in shots (89) and fourth in corners (46).

NEWS & NOTES:
- Following senior Marco Gonzalez's game-winning goal with 20 seconds remaining in UNLV's 3-2 comeback win over UC Irvine in its non-conference finale, the Rebels now have three game-winning goals in the 85th minute or later during the 2021 campaign.
- The go-ahead score by Gonzalez was his second this of the season, as he also sent UNLV to a 2-1 win with an 85th-minute goal in the season opener at Gonzaga.
- UNLV senior Aedon Kyra has tallied a goal or an assist in four of the Rebels' past five outings, as he assisted on the squad's first goal against the Anteaters in the non-conference finale and netted the game-winner in the game prior at Sacramento State.
- Meanwhile, senior Marco Gonzalez continues to be a catalyst for the Rebels' attack with an assist in four of the last five contests.
- Three of the Rebels' four wins this season have come off late scores, as it also received game-winning goals from Gonzalez in the 85th minute of the season opener against the Zags and Kyra in the 89th minute in the squad's season-opening, 2-1 win against UC San Diego.
- The Rebels return defender Billy Jones and midfielder Bailey Letherman, who were both named WAC Second Team All-Conference in 2020.
- Additionally, the Scarlet and Gray welcome back WAC All-Conference honorable mention selections Claudio Gabriel and goalkeeper Miguel Duenas Jr., as well as All-Freshman Team honoree Louis Hiepen from last season.
- Head coach Rich Ryerson is in his 12th year as leader of the Rebel men's soccer program.
