Rebels Open Indoor Campaign At NAU This Weekend

UNLV track & field will compete at the Friday Night Axe 'Em Open hosted at Northern Arizona University

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field program returns to action this weekend at the Northern Arizona University Friday Night Axe 'Em! Open, held at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome on NAU's campus. The meet will kick off Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. (MST) with pole vault and other field events, followed by the running events set to start at 3 p.m., beginning with the women's 60m hurdles. The Rebels will be led this year by senior Jaylen Walker and sophomore Rachel Seeley for their respective jumping events, freshman Aaliyah Graves is also expected to make an impact in long jump. Junior Amari Prude, senior Jazmine Perez, sophomore Kennedy Land, senior Elisa Rovere and senior Emma Wahlenmaier are set to lead the Rebels in their respective running events. The freshman class consisting of Karoli Kaart, Natalia Ruiz Lara, Erin Thompson and Alia Scott are also expected to make an impact for the Scarlet & Gray in their respective running events.

This weekend's meet will be the first indoor track meet for the Scarlet & Gray under new head coach Dorian Scott.
