SATURDAY'S PREVIEW...
UNLV (4-2/2-1) will celebrate Homecoming on Saturday night by welcoming (Air Force 4-2/2-1) in what is the Falcons' first-ever appearance at Allegiant Stadium ... This game features the top two scoring offenses in the league (32.7 PPG by UNLV and 31.8 by AFA) ... The Rebels, who already doubled their victory total from the last two seasons combined, look to win at least three of their first four Mountain West games in a season for just the second time ever (2013) ... In this battle of 4-2 teams, both sides are looking to rebound from a road conference loss as UNLV fell 40-7 at San Jose State and AFA lost 34-27 at Utah State ... The Rebels are 26-27 all-time in their Homecoming outings and are looking for their first win during the annual tradition since beating Fresno State in 2016 ... After starting 0-14 at UNLV, head coach
Marcus Arroyo has won six of his last 10 games ... Louisville grad transfer RB
Aidan Robbins is tied for fourth in the FBS with nine total scores (eight rushing, one receiving) ... This game will feature the two top RBs in the MW as Falcon Brad Roberts leads the league with 118.17 YPG and while Robbins is next at 93.50 YPG ... UNLV is tied for ninth in the nation in turnover margin (plus-8) and ranks second in the country with 11 interceptions (USC is No. 1 with 12).
REBELS vs. FALCONS NOTES...Â
In a series that dates back to 1981, Air Force leads 17-6 and has won the last four meetings ... Because of divisional scheduling in the MW, this marks just the second trip to Las Vegas for the Falcons in the last eight years ... In this high-flying series the winning team has averaged 38 points and never scored less than 24 ... AFA is the only service academy team the Rebels have ever met on the football field but UNLV does have a home-and-home scheduled with Army in 2024 (home) and '28 (away).
