Championship Rematch On Deck Saturday

UNLV hosts Colorado State at 3 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — Something's got to give when two Mountain West title favorites meet Saturday afternoon.

UNLV (12-2 overall, 1-0 Mountain West) hosts Colorado State (8-4, 1-0) at 3 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion. The Lady Rebels are the favorite to win again this year and the Rams were selected third in the league's preseason predicted order of finish.

The contest is a rematch of the 2022 Mountain West Championship Game that UNLV won 75-65. It also pits the conference's top two offenses—and scoring leaders—against one another. CSU's McKenna Hofschild has scored 18.4 points per game while UNLV's Desi-Rae Young averages 18.2.

UNLV swept CSU last season in games highlighted by heroic efforts. Kiara Jackson scored a then-career-high 20 points to lead a second-half rally in Fort Collins. Essence Booker nailed a game-winning 3 as part of 25 points and MVP honors in the MW Championship Game victory.

Broadcast Information

The game will be televised nationally on Stadium and locally on the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network (KVVU 5.2, Cox 125). It was also simulcast online on the Mountain West Network (theMW.com/watch).

Fans can also listen to UNLV's live audio free on Stretch. Wyatt Tomcheck (play-by-play) and Steve Cofield (analyst) have the call.

Desi-Rae Young became the 26th player to score 1,000 points as a Lady Rebel. She reached the milestone in her 69th career game, the fifth-fewest in program history, when she scored a career-high 30 points to lead UNLV to a 93-73 win over Northern Arizona (Dec. 21). Only four Lady Rebels have reached 1,000 points in fewer games (Linda Frohlich, Pauline Jordan, Debra Waddy, Randee Henry).
