LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team will kick off the spring portion of its season hosting The Show February 14-15 at Spanish Trail Country Club. The event, co-hosted by Furman, features 16 teams competing on a Par 72, 6,400 yard course, with two rounds taking place Monday, February 14 and the final round set for Tuesday, February 15. Each day will begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

This will be the fifth straight year the Rebels will open spring at home as UNLV previously hosted The Rebel Beach Invitational at Spanish Trail each of the last four years. The 2022 version will be the debut of the new name, The Show, as UNLV and Furman team up for the event.

The Rebels are coming off one of their strongest falls under 11th year head coach Amy Bush-Herzer where they not only won two team tournament titles but also saw two individual medalist honors as well. UNLV started its winning ways by dominating the field at the 2021 Dale McNamara Invitational in Tulsa In October by 11 strokes with freshman Sydney Bryan nailing a birdie on her final hole to win her first collegiate tournament. The Rebels then ended the fall slate with a victory at The Clash at Boulder Creek, turning in a 8-under 280 in the final round for the eighth lowest single round team score of all time and a 16-shot winning margin. Senior Veronica Joel nabbed her first career individual title, sinking 13 birdies to finish in first with a career-low 5-under.

The performance this fall was even more impressive considering the UNLV lineup featured four newcomers, including three freshmen competing in their first collegiate season. The Rebels will hope that momentum carries over to the spring season, where they will play in seven tournaments over the next three months before the Mountain West Championships in mid April.

After The Show, UNLV will head to Peoria, Arizona for Wisconsin's Westbrook Invite, which will take place February 27-28.

THE FIELD: The field for The Show features the following: Augusta, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Fresno State, Furman, Gonzaga, Grand Canyon, James Madison, UNR, New Mexico, North Florida, Old Dominion, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UNLV and Washington.

THE LINEUP:  The UNLV lineup is senior Veronica Joels, freshman Sydney Bryan, junior Nicole Lorup, freshman Kendall Todd and mid-year newcomer, freshman Toa Yokoyama. Freshmen Hina Matsui and McKenzi Hall and sophomore Gracie Olkowski will be competing as individuals.

• UNLV finished at 3-under at the Jim West Invitational, marking the first time the Rebels finished under par in back-to-back tournaments since the spring of 2017
• UNLV has five returners from last year's squad and welcomed six newcomers to squad this fall, including five freshmen
• Marissa Uradomo, a four-time MVC All-Conference golfer at Indiana State, joined Bush-Herzer's staff as an assistant coach in September of 2021
• Head coach Amy Bush-Herzer is in her 11th year at the helm of the program. She has led her team to a conference championship four times.
