LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football's Gaizka Crowley ("GUY-skah") has been elevated to the newly formed position of chief of staff, head coach Marcus Arroyo announced.

Crowley just finished his second season with the program, having served as director of player personnel in 2020 and then adding the duties of interim director of operations for the Rebels starting last August. Crowley joined the Rebels after serving two seasons as director of recruiting and player personnel at Southern Illinois University.

There, he held a variety of responsibilities that included editing high school film, rating players and traveling nationwide to demonstrate recruiting software programs. Crowley also aided in the selection and evaluation of players for the U.S Army All-American Bowl and Under Armour All-America game.

Crowley began his career as an offensive line coach at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, Florida, helping the team reach the 2008 FHSAA Class 4A state finals. He also held coaching positions at Palatka High School and Florida State University Schools.
