DALLAS, TEXAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf team concluded play at SMU's Trinity Forest Invitational Tuesday in Dallas, finishing in ninth at 48-over 912. The conditions were challenging over the two days, which led to higher scores across the board at Trinity Forest Golf Club (par 72, 6460).
Senior
Veronica Joels was the top Rebel finisher, tying for 13th at 9-over 225 after a final round 1-over 73. Freshmen
Kendall Todd and
Sydney Bryan each carded a 13-over 229 to tie for 29th, followed by fellow freshman
Toa Yokoyama in a tie for 39th at 15-over 231. Junior
Nicole Lorup finished tied for 51st at 20-over 236.
No. 23 Texas Tech was the wire-to-wire leader, taking the team title at 22-over 886 to beat the field by 14 strokes. Tulsa took second at 36-over 900, followed by New Mexico in third at 37-over 901 and UTSA and South Florida tied for fourth at 39-over 903. South Florida's Melanie Green and Tulsa's Lovisa Gunnar took co-medalist honors after each shot even for the tournament with DBU's Olivia Mitchell finishing in third at 1-over 217.
UP NEXT: UNLV women's golf will have individual participants compete in South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club, March 14-15.

• Rebels have won three of their last six tournaments and finished at par or better in five straight, a new program record
• UNLV opened the spring campaign winning its home tournament, The Show, by 13 strokes at 4-under 860 at Spanish Trail Country Club
• UNLV won two tournaments during the fall portion of its season for the first time in program history (Dale McNamara & The Clash at Boulder Creek)
• UNLV shot an 8-under 280 in the final round of the fall (eighth lowest all-time) and opened the spring with a 12-under 276 at The Show (T-3rd lowest all-time)
• The Rebels won the 2021 Dale McNamara Invitational Oct 11-12 in Tulsa, Oklahoma by 11 strokes, marking first tournament win since 2019 (Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown); Three Rebels finished in the top six with freshman
Sydney Bryan winning her first collegiate tournament at 4-under 212
• UNLV finished at 3-under at the Jim West Invitational, marking the first time the Rebels finished under par in back-to-back tournaments since the spring of 2017
• UNLV has six returners from last year's squad and welcomed seven newcomers to the squad this year, including six freshmen
