Rebels Wrap Up 2022 Regular Season Campaign

TUCSON, Ariz. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field team wrapped up their 2022 regular season campaign at the 2022 Desert Heat Classic hosted by Arizona at the Roy P. Drachman Stadium Saturday evening.

Elisa Rovere led the Rebels in the women's 800m run, finishing with a time of 2:12.19, followed by LaKyla Yazzie with a personal best of 2:18.76, Rebecca Green (2:23.34), Lauren Felknor (2:26.32), Aitza Romero with a time of 2:33.43, Jasmine Perez (2:35.75) and Katlynn Menger (2:39.35).

Alia Scott finished the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 59.86, going under a minute for the first time in her career. Mackenzie Moss recorded a 12:11.58 in the women's 3000m steeplechase and Alexys Arroyo finished with a 13:03.23. Kennedi Porter finished the women's 200m dash with a 24.41 and recorded a time of 12.01 in the 100m dash, followed by Karoli Kaart (12.46) and Esmeralda Tenorio (12.92).

Natalia Ruiz finished the women's 1500m run with a personal best of 4:33.92, followed by Isabella Schrader with a four second personal best of 5:00.49, Ellen Wise with a seven second personal best of 5:03.00, Felknor (5:17.90), Green (5:24.22), Menger (5:25.62), Morgan Aittama with a four second personal best of 5:34.58 and Perez with a time of 5:39.56.

Madelyn Wattles finished the women's hammer throw with a mark of 43.04m, 141 '2". Rachel Seeley finished the women's long jump with a personal best mark of 5.08m, 16' 8", Julia Nixon had a 4.97m, 16' 3.75" mark and Aaliyah Graves came in at 4.86m, 15' 11.5".

Other notable finishes for the Scarlet & Gray include Seeley running a personal best of 15.54 in the women's 100m hurdles, Aja Melo-Powell finished with a 1:01.25 in the women's 400m dash and a 25.99 in the women's 200m dash. Nixon finished with a 25.67m mark in women's javelin, followed by Seeley with a 22.77m.

NEXT TIME OUT: The Rebels will compete at the 2022 Outdoor Track & Field Mountain West Championships held May 11-14 at the Veteran's Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California.
