Rebels Secure Nine Personal Bests at Triton Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field team secured nine personal bests Saturday at the 2022 Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego at the Triton Stadium.

The women's 400 relay team of Keyona Burrell, Aja Melo-Powell, Kennedi Porter, Alia Scott and Esmeralda Tenorio placed third with a time of 47.15.

Scott won the 400m hurdles with a season best time of 1:00.97 and Erin Thompson placed third in high jump with a season best of 1.62m. Emma Wahlenmaier finished fifth in the 400m run with a personal best of 56.62, followed by Melo-Powell in 14th with a personal best of 58.79. Elisa Rovere finished fourth in the 800m run with a season best time of 2:13.27 and Aaliyah Graves secured seventh in the triple jump with a season best of 11.08m.

Other notable finishes for the Scarlet & Gray include Julia Nixon finishing 15th in javelin with a personal best of 28.99m, Graves placing 13th in long jump (5.03m), Madelyn Wattles finishing 15th in the hammer throw with a personal best of 44.48m and Rachel Seeley securing a personal best in shot put with a 9.70m.

NEXT TIME OUT: The Rebels will continue their 2022 outdoor campaign at the MT. SAC Relays in Walnut, California, April 15-16.
