UNLV Student-Athletes Post Academic Records

Athletics Department turns in 10th straight semester with at least a 3.0, while setting a new spring cumulative GPA record.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV student-athletes posted new department records for academics during the Spring 2022 semester, the athletics department announced Friday.

The department cumulative GPA of 3.29 subsequent to the Spring 2022 semester set a spring term record, surpassing the previous mark of 3.24 after Spring 2021. Additionally, baseball, women's basketball and men's soccer each set or tied program records for team cumulative GPA with their Spring 2022 marks.

The Spring 2022 semester GPA of all UNLV student-athletes was 3.04, marking a record 10th straight time the department has achieved a collective semester GPA of at least 3.0. Prior to the Fall 2017 semester, Rebel student-athletes had never achieved a collective semester GPA of 3.0.

"Our student-athletes continue to impress with their outstanding results in the classroom," said UNLV Director of Athletics Erick Harper. "Congratulations to our Rebel players, coaches and academic services staff on another 3.0 semester along with a record-breaking spring cumulative GPA."

Other academic highlights for the department include:
  • 131 UNLV student-athletes were named to the Dean's Honor List for Spring 2022, which requires a semester GPA greater than 3.50 in at least 12 academic credits.
