Morgan Goldstein Joins Women's Golf Program

The Las Vegas native comes to the Rebels after playing three seasons at Iowa

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV women's golf program has received a signed commitment from Las Vegas native Morgan Goldstein to join the Rebels for the 2022-23 season, head coach Amy Bush-Herzer announced Friday.

"We're very proud to have Morgan come home to play," Bush-Herzer said. "She has come up through the junior ranks here in Las Vegas and brings with her extensive experience playing in national tournaments and in the Big Ten. We're excited she's joining our Rebel family."

Goldstein, a former standout at Faith Lutheran High School, transfers from the University of Iowa where she recently completed her third season in the spring. A two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree with the Hawkeyes, she holds a career average round of 76.38, an 18-hole personal best of 69 and a career-best 54-hole score of 218 (+2). Additionally, Goldstein notched seven top-25 finishes at Iowa, including a 24th-place finish at the 2021 Big Ten Championships and four top-10 finishes.

On top of collegiate play, Goldstein came away with the crown at the Nevada State Women's Amateur Championship at Reflection Bay Golf Club in July of 2020, shooting a final-round 67 to finish 11-under 133.

During her prep career with the Crusaders, Goldstein made the All-Southern Nevada first team, All-Mountain Region first team, All-Northwest League first team and registered a career-low round of 71. She also won both the Collegiate Toyota Cup Tournament at La Costa Resort in San Diego and the Drive, Chip and Putt at Augusta National, recording the first and only perfect score in the event's history.

The addition bolsters a rising Rebel program that made its first NCAA appearance since 2018, won three tournament titles (Dale McNamara Invitational, The Clash at Boulder Creek, The Show) and finished at par or better in a program-record five straight tournaments during the 2021-22 campaign.
