LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – One year ago tomorrow, UNLV opened its season with a 4-3 win over visiting Hawai'i -- but on Friday the Rainbow Warriors flipped the script and earned the one-point victory at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

UH (1-3) began the morning earning a thrilling doubles point by taking the deciding match on court three by the score of 7-5.

In singles play, the Rebels rallied by splitting the six matches but fell just short of completing the comeback. Anton Ornberg downed Guillaume Tattevin at No. 3, 7-5, 6-1; Aaron Bailey breezed past Lucas Labrunie at No. 4, 6-1, 6-2; and Dusan Rsovac outlasted Andy Hernandez on court five, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6. The visitors clinched the overall win, however, with a three-set victory at the sixth spot.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Bailey, making his UNLV dual-match debut, used his straight-setter to get his team on the board after Hawai'i took a 3-0 lead.

UP NEXT: UNLV plays a doubleheader on Saturday, hosting New Mexico State starting at 10 a.m. and then facing UC Riverside at 2 p.m. Admission to all home matches is free of charge.
