BOULDER CITY, Nev. (UNLVRebels.com) – In a tournament with three individuals competing, UNLV women's golf saw senior
Madeleine Laux notch a career-best second-place finish on Tuesday's final day of The Clash at Boulder Creek hosted by Northern Arizona at Boulder Creek Golf Club (Par 72, 6,334 yards).
Laux recorded a career-low 8-under 208 through 54 holes, shooting under 70 twice with a 4-under 68 and 3-under 69 in the second and third rounds, respectively, to earn runner-up honors. She eagled her 13th hole of the final round and sank 12 birdies for the tournament.
The Rebels also sent seniors
Morgan Goldstein and
Gracie Olkowski to the three-day event. Goldstein (+4) took 42nd overall and third among individual competitors, while Okowski (+14) tied for 86th and was seventh among individuals.
UP NEXT: The Rebels will wrap up their fall tournament slate next week at Miami's Hurricane Invitational, which is set for Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 30-31.
REBEL NOTES:
- Laux is the second Rebel this season, either representing the team or competing as an individual, to card an 8-under 208 or better. Additionally, she is the ninth golfer to achieve the feat in program history.
