LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team closed its fall individual schedule by wrapping up the Jolene Watanabe Classic at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on Sunday.
                                               
Long Beach State, UTSA, NAU and Utah Tech all had representatives taking on the Rebel contingent this weekend.
 
After putting a finalist into all four singles and both doubles flights, the only Rebels winning on the last day of the event were Zita Kovacs in her third-place match in the top flight, 6-4, 7-5; Nikol Mircheva, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1, in the third-place match in Flight Three; and the doubles team of Kovacs and Salsa Aher in the third-place match of Flight One.
 
The annual fall invitational is named in honor of former UNLV great Jolene Watanabe, who put the UNLV women's tennis program on the map three decades ago and passed away in 2019 after a battle with cancer at the age of 50.
