In a battle for sole possession of first place in the Mountain West, UNLV (8-2/5-1) closes out its road schedule with a trip to Air Force (8-2/5-1) Saturday afternoon ... The game will be televised nationally by CBS Sports Network ... The Rebels, who are receiving votes in both major polls, have clinched a winning record and are bowl-eligible for the first time since playing in the Heart of Dallas Bowl after the 2013 season ... The Rebels come in after downing Wyoming, 34-14 on Friday while the Falcons fell at Hawai'i, 27-13 ... Jacob De Jesus leads college football in combined kick return yards with 801 (a full 102 yards ahead of No. 2 Zachariah Branch of USC) and is the only player in the nation to rank in the top 10 for both punt and kickoff returns. He sits third in PR with 19.6 yards per attempt and eighth in KOR with 27.3 Â ... The Rebels have won five of their first six league outings for the first time since finishing 5-1 in Big West play in 1994 ... The Rebs have shattered program records for 40+point games for both consecutive outings (four) and in a season (six) while scoring at least 24 points in eight straight games for the first time since they moved to Division One in 1978 ... In a series that dates back to 1981, Air Force leads 18-6 and has won the last five meetings ... In this high-flying series the winning team has averaged 38 points and never scored less than 24 ... AFA is the only service academy team the Rebels have ever met on the football field ... The last Rebel win over the Falcons came a decade ago when UNLV went to Air Force for a night game in late November of 2013 looking to become bowl-eligible and emerged with a 41-21 victory in what was the coldest recorded game in both schools' histories.
