LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV football's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach
Brennan Marion has been named Mountain West Coordinator of the Year by Mountain West Wire.
In Marion's first season in Las Vegas with new head coach
Barry Odom, he helped dramatically improve the team's offensive output across the board, including going from 26 to 34 points per game, an average that leads the league and ranks 23rd in the nation. The Rebels, who currently sit 11th in the country with a red-zone scoring rate of 92.1%, shattered school records for 40-point games for both a season (six) and in consecutive outings (four) while scoring at least 24 points in a program-record 10 consecutive games.
Marion also mentored Freshman All-American quarterback
Jayden Maiava as his Go-Go Offense produced 37 rushing touchdowns through 13 games, which ranks second in the country and is one shy of the school record set in 1974.
UNLV's 2023 offense also featured All-American
Ricky White's record-breaking receiving total of 1,386 yards, which helped the squad compile more third-down conversions (98) than any team in college football.
Marion was also previously one of 57 nominees for the prestigious Broyles Award, which honors college football's top assistant coaches.
The Rebels (9-4), who finished in a three-way tie for the Mountain West regular-season championship, are preparing to play Kansas in the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl in Phoenix on December 26. Ticket information is available at
