Santana Sets Program Record For Shot Put... Again

AUSTIN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) – Sophomore Rosa Santana set the program record in the women's outdoor shot put event for the second time this season with a mark of 17.93m (58-10.00) during the final day of the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. 

The four-day meet was held at the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field on the campus of University of Texas. The Scarlet & Gray competed against 13 top-25 universities, including No. 1 LSU, No. 8 Ole Miss and No. 9 Auburn, as well as Mountain West foes New Mexico and Utah State. 

ON THE FIELD
- Santana took first in the women's shot put event with a program record mark of 17.93m. The Dominican Republic native was almost one meter ahead of second-place Marilyn Nwora from Texas (17.10m).

UP NEXT: The Rebels will return to the Golden State for the Triton Invitational hosted by UC San Diego set for Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8.
