LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team picked up its first Mountain West win of the season with a gritty 4-3 victory over Utah State on a warm Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.  
 
The Rebels improved their overall record to 9-8 and 1-1 in league play while the Aggies fell to 7-11 and 0-2 in the MW.
 
The teams started out by staging a marathon doubles session that proved to be the difference. The Rebels picked up the key point by taking a 6-4 win at the top from Milos Dabic and Maxim Verboven and a 7-5 clincher on court three by Jackson Atherton and Anton Ornberg.
 
In singles, the score eventually stood at 3-3 after UNLV wins from Anton Ornberg, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3, over Stijn Paardekooder at No. 3 and Dusan Rsovac, 7-5, 6-3, over Nuno Pinheiro at No. 6. All eyes turned to court four where Dabic split sets with Roko Savin before the Rebel veteran prevailed, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, to end things.
 
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Dabic went 2-0 on the day with the doubles victory with partner Verboven before posting the clutch clincher in singles play.
