McKenzi Hall and super senior
Veronica Joels led the UNLV women's golf team Monday as they ended the first round of the NCAA Pullman Regional inside the individual top 30 at Palouse Ridge Golf Club (Par 72, 6,405 yards).
Hall shot a 1-under 71 and Joels tallied an even-par 72 to find themselves tied for 24th and 30th, respectively, through 18 holes. Their scores helped the Rebels end the day in a tie for 10th at 3-over.
Top-seeded Stanford jumped out to the day-one lead at 21-under 267 for a five-shot advantage over USC (-16) in second place. Following them on the team leaderboard are Texas Tech (-11) in third and Baylor (-5) and Sacramento State (-5) in a tie for fourth. Similarly, the Cardinal stands atop the individual leaderboard with Rose Zhang and Sadie Englemann tied for first at 8-under, while UC Riverside's individual competitor Tiffany Le (-7) is one-shot back in third.

Nicole Lorup (+2) and freshman
Thienna Huynh (+2) are tied for 47th and sophomore
Toa Yokoyama (+3) is tied for 53rd. Huynh and Yokoyama each recorded eagles near the conclusion of their rounds, both of which came on the par-5 17th hole.
