LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV women's soccer freshman forward Cassie Villanueva has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.

The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.

Villanueva, a La Mirada, California native, helped lead UNLV to a 2-0 road sweep over New Mexico State and CSU Bakersfield. She recorded her first career game-winning goal, brace and a four-point match in a 3-2 victory over the Aggies. She then tallied an assist on the go-ahead goal in the Rebels' 3-1 comeback victory over the Roadrunners.
