LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - UNLV Sports Properties partner Acesso Biologics completed its 2026 Hoops for Troops donation program with UNLV Athletics as the 2025-26 basketball season concluded last month.
Acesso Biologics donated $100 per made free throw by the Runnin' Rebels during the regular season, which totaled $52,000 donated to the Nevada Veterans Foundation.
Based in Las Vegas and operated by an all-volunteer board, the foundation supports programs and initiatives that provide critical resources and care for the veteran community across the state.
Through community partnerships and fundraising efforts, the Nevada Veterans Foundation helps support organizations and facilities such as the Southern Nevada Fisher House, the Southern Nevada State Veterans Home, Veterans Treatment Court, and other veteran service programs. These initiatives help ensure that veterans and their families have access to lodging, healthcare support, and essential services while receiving medical treatment or transitioning back to civilian life.
"At Acesso Biologics, we believe in supporting the communities that support us, especially the veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country," said Michael Aquino, CEO of Acesso Biologics. "As a company proud to call Las Vegas home, partnering with UNLV Athletics through Hoops for Troops was a meaningful way to turn the energy of Rebel basketball into real support for the Nevada Veterans Foundation and the important work they do for veterans and their families across Southern Nevada. From the Thomas & Mack Center to communities across the valley, we're proud that every made free throw helped generate a positive impact for Nevada's veteran community. Go Rebels, and God bless the United States of America."
"Acesso Biologics continues to show its commitment to not only our UNLV student-athletes, but to the community of Las Vegas," said Dan Dolby, General Manager of UNLV Sport Properties. "Supporting our veterans is an integral way to show appreciation and provide valuable assistance. We're proud to partner with Acesso and all of their employees."
"We are very happy to be able to use the platform of Runnin' Rebel basketball to make a meaningful difference beyond the court," said Erick Harper, UNLV Director of Athletics. "Through our partnership with Acesso Biologics and the Hoops for Troops program, every free throw became an opportunity to give back to those who have served our country. We're proud of the impact this initiative has made in supporting Nevada's veteran community and grateful to Acesso for their continued commitment to UNLV Athletics and Southern Nevada."
