LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's tennis concluded its tournament schedule on Sunday as the elite Freeman Memorial Championships wrapped up at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
The 21st annual event featured individual competitors from four teams ranked in the top 20 in the season's initial ITA rankings -- No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 8 Pepperdine, No. 10 Florida and NO. 16 UCLA – along with the host Rebels.
 
UNLV's Coco Zhao fell in the final of the Venetian Draw, 7-5, 6-0, to Raquel Gonzales of Oklahoma State. Zhao and teammate Cindy Hu also were defeated in the doubles draw, 6-1, by UCLA's Ahmani Guichard and Anne-Christine Lutkmeyer.
 
Next up, UNLV will start dual-match play by facing Maryland on January 26 as part of the ITA Kickoff Weekend being held at Stanford in Palo Alto, California.
