ROME, Ga. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV men's tennis standout
Illia Maksymchuk won in straight sets Sunday to capture the consolation draw singles final at the 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championships, staged this week at the Rome Tennis Center.
Maksymchuk, a sophomore from Ukraine who earned his spot in the elite singles field by winning the Mountain West Qualifier last month, downed Jack Batchelor from Bellarmine University, 6-1, 6-4, to earn the trophy.
The event rounded out fall action for the men's squad, which will now prepare for its first dual match on January 20 at home vs. Creighton.
